My mother was from Macon, GA. She and her brother and sisters knew many people associated with the band. Her brother often spoke about the time he spent with Jaimoe. My mother's name was Mary Joyce Owens, and her brother was Alvin Omega Owens. If anybody knows them, please let me know. They have both passed away and I would love to get any information about their time in Macon. Thank you.

I cant beleive that there are not more comments on or about Jaimoe. In the early days,or the "Beginnings" JJ's playing was unique if not prominant to Trucks... JJ added previlence to the percussions that was key to the improvisation with Berry that created such great music!
I know of Jaimoe's Jasss Band, but dont know were to find any of his recorded music. Is there any? I have read and heard so much about it. I am very anxious to hear something.
As a drummer I have listened to, watched and studied his very unique style. For almost Fourty Years of listening to Jaimoe I am still very impressed with his playing.
